Lump
Animal
by Bryce Roper
Holy shit. The synths, the orchestral baroque pop, the vocals. This is like a venn diagram of a bunch of genres that are, like, okay on their own, if a little dated. But in the middle of the venn diagram is a weird mashup i've never heard that is truly entirely new. Tracks layered with every instrument under the sun makes it feel like the gospel of some strange indie electropop temple. Expect organs, pianos, flutes, vintage analog synths, some digital technique all brought together by dark but beautiful vocals. Crazy guitar solo on paradise, insane sounds on Animal, and a very fucked up pseudo pop track with We Cannot Resist. RIYL: the Weather Station, Goat Girl, Aldous Harding, Broadcast
